Our Lady of Mercy Heritage Church & Complex
Discover the heritage and traditions of the history of the largest wooden structure in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador!
At 115 ft. tall the church seats 1,000 people and was built over 11-years by local craftspeople 100-years ago. It features stained-glass windows, stations of the cross constructed of Italian Carrera marble, original statues, and an altar carved with a pocket knife.

We are open seasonally, although we do host various events throughout the year. If you're planning to visit with a tour group, please contact us to book.
We're always happy to welcome new volunteers to help with our various events, tours, craft & gift shop, tea room, and more. Please reach out if you would like to volunteer!
The 48th Annual Port au Port Agricultural & Craft Fair will take place September 30 & October 1, 2023. Crafts, baked goods, vegetables, preserves, petting farm, and homecooked meals!
