Community & Public  Services

The Our Lady of Mercy Complex Committee is a committed group who are eager and outgoing when lending a hand in community, regional and provincial community development efforts and services. These services are open to the public at specific times throughout the year, though you can call and / or email to inquire about them at any time you wish!

Services include Historical Church Tours, Church & Museum Walkabouts, our Museum Tea Room, Event / Reception Hall Booking, and Wedding Services. Take note that new services may be added on to the list below at any time as we are always improving our services and website with the public in mind.

Church & Museum

Maybe tours are not quite your thing and you're more of a private type of person or group who would like to walkabout the grounds and gaze at the marvels before you. If so, this package is for you! Enjoy the church grounds and museum for as long as you wish for the day!

Our Lady of Mercy Complex Event Hall Booking

Are you looking for a venue to hold an event? The Our Lady of Mercy Complex Event Hall is one of the largest venues in the Port au Port Region! Maybe you're looking to book a family reunion, function, gallery viewing, luncheon or more! Give us a call to see what we can do for you!

Apply For A Student Summer Job!

Are you a student under the age of 29? If so, you might be in luck! Our Lady of Mercy hires students for several weeks in the summer to greet the public, work in the gift shop and give tours of Our Lady of Mercy Church. Your job is to know the history and help our visitors enjoy your time here while answering questions to the best of your ability. Don't worry, we train you well! 

Historical Church Tours

Get a guided tour Our Lady of Mercy Historical Church during the months of June, July and August and prepared to be awed by Newfoundland & Labrador's largest wooden structures. It is the oldest wooden building in Newfoundland (excluding Labrador).

Museum Tea Room

After a tour of Our Lady of Mercy Church, come see our museum which is filled with stories, articles and items from the early days of Port au Port. After you're done, sit down for a cup of tea or coffee along with a large variety of home baked goods!

Services & Reception Hall
