Music in the Church

Daily local performers will charm you with music and/or song each day from 2:30-3:30.

Danny’s Trail

Enjoy the natural beauty of the sea stacks, beaches and trails on this 3 kilometre trail that has a number of options for trail entrances and exits. See Gallery for images. 

Museum Tours

The old rectory or priest house has been converted to a display of antiques, artifacts and local items that reflect our culture and heritage. Do a self guided tour or be accompanied by our student tour guide to see our Abbott Room, Aquathuna Room, Doll Room Local School memorabilia and Father Green’s Room. Watch our historic photo tour of the Aguathuna Community and Quarry. Then visit our tearoom for tea/coffee and a light dessert.

Beach Boil Ups

Pre book your make your own beach boil up kit. Kit includes kindling for the fire, campfire grill, a gallon of water, kettle/pot/frying pan and tea bags, map to local beach areas, and three options for the boil up,

1.     Tea and purity biscuits choice of lemon creams of ginger biscuits $30

2.     Tea and pan fried toutons to include bread dough, cooking oil, molasses $40

3.     Tea and mussels with fresh mussels (in season) instructions, garlic butter $50.

Tea Room

Enjoy our indoor or outdoor tables for tea and dessert, featuring local berry cheesecake, plain or raisin tea biscuits, or freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. You can linger and enjoy the peaceful existence of rural community living and take in other attractions in the area.

Gift Shop

Our newly renovated Gift Shop displays the work of local artists and crafts-person's including artwork originals/prints/cards, knitted goods, quilts, ornaments, Afghan blankets, and much more!

Church Tours

The spectacular wooden structure has an interior that is unmatched in the beauty of the custom woodwork, the stained-glass windows, the hand carved altar…built by local fishermen, farmers and miners from 1914 to 1925. A guided tour by one of our hosts can enlighten you on the unique features and stories of the heritage church.

 

Mass of the Assumption

While the church does not host regular services it is available for special services throughout the year. On August 15th, we celebrate the Mass of the Assumption with a special service held by the local Roman Catholic Diocese.

 

Wedding Venue

Book our Heritage Church and/or our Event Hall for your next special event! Weddings are absolutely beautiful in the splendid setting. See photos for the setting and contact us for more information.
